This cd presents the music of the Shaker communities of Ohio and Kentucky. Recorded in the 1820 Meeting House of the Pleasant Hill community, the singers take a very natural, yet still beautiful, approach to the material. The voices on this disc, including the late Randy Folger, are folksy in quality, without the vibrato and bombast that has marred other more recent recordings of Shaker music. Strongly recommended.
